Set amongst the developing suburb of point Chevalier, Te Mahurehure Marae, has been in successful operation for 50 years and has identified the need for expansion to take advantage of the unique opportunities within the travel and tourism.
Designed and constructed to be a new iconic cultural community centre, Te Tuamata ō Kupe is a 2-storey building with a central hall area, upper mezzanine space, and timber deck. The building is a hub for education and community activities, tourism experiences and exhibitions, corporate and wedding functions.
MPM Projects became involved in this project following the liquidation of the main contractor and negotiated with key sub-contractors while procuring a new building to ensure the project was completed to the client original brief.
