This project redeveloped a proven location to support Auckland growth by improving how the site functions

Daily Freight has operated from O’Rorke Road, Penrose for over 50 years. This project redeveloped that proven location to support Auckland growth by improving how the site functions. Early plans for a full demolition were replaced with an adaptive reuse approach and investing where it mattered. The result is a 13,000m² facility on a 45,000m² site, with a modernised freight terminal, new office and upgraded staff spaces including a commercial grade kitchen.

Operational upgrades include new breezeways, extended docking, rail siding works, dock levellers and weighbridge. Sustainability features include photovoltaics and rainwater harvesting that supplies site operations, including an automatic truck wash, designed to recycle 80% of wash water and powering electric forklifts.
