The Christchurch Fresh Distribution Centre, located in Rolleston on the outskirts of Christchurch, is an 11,500 m² refrigerated warehouse situated on a 28,000 m² site. Purpose-built to handle fresh and perishable goods, the facility services all Woolworths and Countdown stores across the South Island. It features advanced technologies, including sealed vertical docks, a temperature-controlled inbound tunnel and multiple temperature zones throughout the warehouse to ensure optimal product quality.
The building achieved a 4 Star NZGBC Green Star Certification, incorporating sustainable design elements such as rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient lighting, low-water and low-energy cooling towers, and provisions for future solar panel installation.
